DoD Safety Net

NAACS members provide DoD a "safety net" that affords DoD a resource for obtaining hard-to-find spare parts needed on an immediate basis, critical in these times of military conflict.   NAACS members essentially act as a cost-effective warehouse for the DoD whose only alternative would be to go back to the Original Equipment Manufacturers ("OEM") and request new production of old parts at tremendous cost to the taxpayer since the DoD has no way of storing, maintaining and inventorying these parts themselves.   The OEMs also cannot meet the short delivery schedules needed to support emergency military conflicts whereas NAACS members can sometimes provide overnight delivery.   Many NAACS members have received commendations from the U.S. military for their parts supply efforts in the Desert Storm and Desert Shield conflicts and continue their efforts today in the ongoing Iraqi and Afghanistan campaigns.

Without question, NAACS members are truly DoD's "safety net" when it comes to the immediate acquisition of hard-to-find spare parts at great savings to the taxpayer.

NAACS members provide key and timely support to the U.S. military.  In fact, during just the 7 month period from November 2003 through May 2004, the Defense Logistics Agency awarded nearly 400 separate "urgent" contracts to NAACS members across the country to supply critically needed replacement parts to our troops in Iraq and Afghansitan.  Unlike the large prime manufacturers who may take up to a year to fill such orders, the NAACS members supplied these vitally needed parts, on average, in under 30 days.
